Counties in the Shannonside Northern Sound region were among the best performing agricultural areas last year.
The latest data from the CSO outlined the scale of agricultural production across the country in 2022.
The CSO report was published on Thursday and focused on dairy, livestock and poultry production in each region.
The Midlands was the best performing region in dairy production last year.
The region includes counties Longford, Westmeath, Laois and Offaly.
The value of the Midlands' Operating Surplus grew by 51% to €317 million, due to the region's higher yields and dairy cow stocks, which resulted in the value of its milk production rising by 61% to €461 million, the highest rate of growth in milk in the country.
The CSO report also outlines the production rates in the Border region of Cavan, Donegal, Leitrim, Monaghan, and Sligo, which made up 71% of the country's poultry and 25% of its sheep and pigs in 2022.
Meanwhile, the West, which includes counties Galway, Mayo, and Roscommon, was the smallest producer of agricultural output in Ireland, generating €1.1 billion, just 9% of Irish Agricultural Output at Basic Prices.]
