The Shannonside Region had the lowest number of fuel allowance payments in the country last winter.
Close to 16,000 local households successfully qualified for the fuel allowance during the period.
The support is administered through the Department of Social Protection and is aimed at helping with the cost of home heating during the winter months.
People over 70 and those in receipt of long-term social welfare payments are entitled to claim the payment, with 15,854 successful applications made locally during the 2022/2023 winter season.
Roscommon recorded the highest amount of Fuel Allowance payments last year with 6,485 people receiving help heating their home.
In Longford, 5,273 people applied and were granted the support, while in Leitrim 4,096 people sought the Government scheme.
Nationally, 404,000 homes across the country received the payment towards home heating,
