Longford County Council recorded a significant decrease in its social housing waiting list last year.
New figures from the Department of Local Government reveal the Council's list last year fell 40% compared to 2020 figures.
301 households in Longford were assessed as being qualified for, and in need of, social housing support as of 17 November 2021.
This figure is down 201 or 40% from 502 households recorded in November 2020.
177 households in Leitrim required social housing support in November of last year - a reduction of 13 or 7 per cent from 12 months previous.
This figure also represents a total decrease of 186 or 51% of households since 2016.
241 households in Roscommon were on the social housing support list last year which was a reduction of 50 or 17.1% from 291 households the year before.
