Hundreds of train passengers on the Dublin Sligo service were delayed yesterday afternoon following an incident at the level crossing outside Edgeworthstown.
Irish Rail confirmed a vehicle hit the barrier at the level crossing around 5' o clock yesterday afternoon.
The 15.00 Connolly/Sligo service had to be halted in Edgeworthstown as a result, and passengers on that train were delayed by an hour.
Passengers on the 16.00 Connolly/Sligo service were delayed by over an hour, and other evening services ran over by around half an hour.
