There has been a significant drop in the number of confirmed Covid cases at Sligo University hospital in the last 24 hours.
According to new HSE figures for 8pm as of Wednesday night, the northwest hospital has now no confirmed cases of the disease - a reduction from 14 the day previous.
In hospitals that serve the Shannonside Northern Sound region, only Mullingar hospital had a single confirmed case of the virus by 8pm last night.
Eight suspected cases of Covid have been reported to Sligo University hospital - with two at Cavan hospital and two also suspected cases in Mullingar.
Monaghan and Cavan remain the counties with the highest incidence rates in the country- with Roscommon recording the fourth highest.
