Local Sports Partnerships in the Shannonside region have been given a one million euro funding boost. The funding, part of a €30 million package announced by Minister Catherine Martin, includes support for the Women in Sport programme.
Roscommon Sports Partnership received a total of €366,733 while Longford will benefit from €359,746, and Leitrim sees €310,330. A proportion of that funding will go towards supporting Women in Sport projects - €9,000 in Longford, €7,500 in Leitrim and €5,500 in Roscommon. Age and Opportunity 'Go For Life' will also benefit from €620,000 in funding while €140,00 will be ring-fenced for Active Disability Ireland projects.
