There are currently no affordable properties available for rent in Athlone or Leitrim for Housing Assistance Payment users.
That's the finding of today's Simon Communities Locked Out of the Market report - it says that's the lowest number ever recorded.
35 homes are within HAP limits nationwide, these were mainly on the market in Dublin, but outside the capital nine areas had no properties available inlcuding Athlone and Leitrim.
Simon Communities Head of Policy, Wayne Stanley, says the standard HAP rate is essentially useless at the moment.
''The main finding of the report today is that there was zero properties available within the standard rate of HAP. And if the all the local authorities were to use their maximum discretion available to them, that would make 35 additional properties available. So the situation now is we're at what is in essence functional zero in terms of the properties available to people on a HAP payment.''
