A local Sinn Féin TD has reflected on what he describes as a "difficult" General Election campaign. Martin Kenny said the short run in coupled with poor weather has severely hampered canvassing efforts. He highlighted the difference in campaigning during the summer months, where evenings are brighter and longer, saying it was nearly "impossible" to do the same this time of year.
The Sligo-Leitrim candidate has been a TD in Dáil Éireann since 2016 and was appointed as the Agriculture spokesperson for Sinn Féin earlier this year.
Speaking to Shannonside News, he said there were certain areas he wasn't able to reach in the lead up to polling day tomorrow due to the wintry conditions.
