SIPO is to hold an investigation hearing into allegations surrounding Longford Westmeath TD Robert Troy next month. Deputy Troy resigned from his position as a Minister of State in 2022 following his failure to fully declare details of his property interests on the Oireachtas register. The Standards in Public Office announced in December of last year that there was no prima facie evidence to support any suggestion that there was a conflict of interest relating to the deputies public statements regarding Rental Accommodation Scheme funding during his time as a minister.
Speaking after the announcement last year, Deputy Troy stated that he looked forward to cooperating fully and was hopeful that the Commission will conclude its investigation in a timely manner. The hearing is set to take place on June 10th.
