Siptu representatives will meet Fianna Fail TDs from the midlands this morning to voice their opposition to the sale of Bord Na Mona Recycling.
The group is set to sell off its waste management business in a deal which is expected to be worth more than €55 million.
The union says the decision by the semi state company is "ludicrous" and their members will be negatively impacted.
