County Roscommon has reported six new cases of Covid 19 as Donegal goes into lockdown.
As of midnight Wednesday, 23 September, there are 167 new cases in Dublin, 42 in Donegal, 34 in Cork, 13 in Monaghan, 12 in Kildare, 8 in Cavan, 6 in Limerick, 6 in Meath, 6 in Roscommon and 5 in Wicklow, with the remaining 25 cases in 11 counties. Counties with under five cases are not detailed until the county by county list the following day.
Donegal is to be moved to level three COVID restrictions from midnight.
With the 14 day incident rate in Donegal passing 122 today NPHET made a strong recommendation to government to move the county to level three restrictions.
Waterford and Louth will both escape any further restrictions having had less than 5 new cases today.
The new measures for Donegal are likely to take effect from midnight.
The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has today been informed that 3 people with COVID-19 have died.
In the latest county by county update, the overall total for Leitrim is 113, which represents no change, there is also no change reported in Longford which stands at 325 cases. Roscommon is listed as having 403 cases.
The county by county list is updated with figures a day later so it's expected that six new cases in Roscommon will be recorded on tomorrow's list along with any further cases in Longford and Leitrim which are not included in today's totals.
