The newly elected chair of Longford County Council has vowed to work on the provision of a skate park for the town.
Councillor Peggy Nolan, who was selected as county Cathaoirleach yesterday, has called for a major investment in Longford infrastructure.
Speaking after her election, Councillor Nolan spoke of how the construction of a Skate Park is one of her main priorities for her upcoming year in the position.
The development of skateboarding and rollerblading infrastructure has been the source of a large community campaign over the last number of years with well known Longford landmarks such as the Army barracks and the Greyhound track suggested as possible future sites.
