Communities from around Sliabh Bawn have joined forces to pick up litter on the various approach roads to the popular amenity.
The collaboration involves Strokestown Tidy Towns, Ballyleague Tidy Town and Regeneration teams, and the Ballybeg Community Group.
Jonathan Cassidy who's Chairman of the community amenity group says an effort on last Saturday during just one hour collected over 20 large sacks full of litter.
He says the increasing use of Sliabh Ban as a popular amenity is bringing it's own problems and they will need support to deal with it into the future.
