The number of people who have received COVID booster vaccines in the Shannonside region has risen slightly.
New figures from the Central Statistics Office show that Carrick on Shannon is the area with the highest uptake of the second booster
The latest release from the CSO breaks down the percentage of people who have completed a primary course of the vaccine programme and any extra boosters.
Athlone, County Roscommon remains the area with the highest booster 1 uptake in the Shannonside region at 70%, a slight increase on the previous figure of 68%.
61% of eligible people in the Ballinamore M.D have received at least one booster, with Carrick on Shannon and Roscommon just behind on 60%.
According to the CSO data, the Ballymahon M.D is the area with the lowest uptake in the region in booster 1 at 48% with Longford also recording a figure of 50%.
While the Boyle and Granard M.Ds currently have an uptake of 58% each.
The figures show that the percentage of people receiving a second booster is significantly lower, with an average of just under 22% taking them compared to an average of 58% for booster 1
