Local hospitals are extremely busy once again today with dozens of patients currently waiting on trolleys across the region.
Sligo University Hospital and the Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar are two of the busiest facilities in the country.
According to the latest INMO figures, there are 14 people currently waiting in the Emergency Department in Sligo and 26 people waiting for a bed overall. Mullingar has 12 patients in its Emergency Department.
Elsewhere, there are four patients in the Emergency Department at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda while there are no patients waiting at Cavan General Hospital, Our Lady's Hospital in Navan or Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe.
Nationally, University Hospital Limerick is the busiest facility in the country with a total of 104 people waiting for a bed. Cork University Hospital with 49 patients and University Hospital Galway with 31 are also busy.
Overall, there are 460 patients waiting for beds across the country.
