The Emergency Department at Sligo University Hospital is dealing with the second highest level of overcrowding in the country today.
According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation 49 people are on trolleys at the northwest facility this afternoon.
30 patients are waiting for a bed in the A&E department with a further 19 on trolleys in wards throughout the hospital.
The local hospital has been dealing with high levels of overcrowding in recent days and INMO trolley figures show the number of people waiting for a bed has exceeded 40 on three days last week.
Elsewhere in the region, there is 15 patients on trolleys at Portiuncula Hospital, 6 people is waiting on a bed in Mullingar Hospital while 30 people are without a bed at UCHG.
