Management at Sligo Hospital have acknowledged that patients are experiencing significant delays due to pressures on bed availability at the facility.
The Emergency Department has been extremely busy over the past few days with 45 people on a trolley or chair at the hospital this afternoon.
163 people attended the ED yesterday, resulting in 35 patients admissions.

It's understood all available beds are in use and efforts is being made to discharge patients who are ready to go home.
Saolta Management continue to request that people consider other options for non-emergency care such as their local Injury Unit, Out of Hours GP and pharmacies before attending an ED.
