The redrawing of electoral boundaries in the Northwest will not stop a local Fine Gael TD contesting the next election.
In a statement to Shannonside FM this afternoon, Deputy Frank Feighan says while he's disappointed to see North Roscommon transferred from the Sligo/Leitrim Constituency to the Roscommon Galway one.
The Electoral Commission report released today calls for 18 Electoral Divisions of North Roscommon will be transferred to Roscommon-Galway, including areas such as Boyle, Arigna and Keadue.
Deputy Feighan says that while he has lost votes in the transferred areas, he will continue to build support and work with the people of Leitrim and Sligo.
Speaking to 'Let's Talk' today, the Fine Gael TD says he looks forward to submitting his name to the Fine Gael general election convention, once it is convened.
