The Emergency Department at Sligo University Hospital is under extreme pressure today.
33 people are waiting for a bed on trolleys or in wards today, down from 43 yesterday.
Members of the public are being advised to attend the ED only in the case of emergency and to seek alternative treatment in the first instance if possible.
Nationally, there are 584 people on trolleys today, with Mullingar Regional Hospital, Portiuncula and UHG also under severe pressure.
Our Lady's Hospital in Drogheda and Tullamore Hospital are also dealing with several patients on trolleys, while Cavan General Hospital has just two people waiting for a bed.
The INMO is now calling for the Emergency Department Taskforce to be convened and for emergency measures to be deployed in the areas worst hit.
