Social welfare rates are set to increase at the end of next month.
Thousands of people will be entitled to claim the new payments of up to 450 euro a week, if they become unemployed.
The pay related jobseeker's benefit comes into effect on the 31st of March, for those who lose their jobs, with the payment being linked to their previous earnings.
