Some people are leaving 'extraordinary' amount of cash in their homes - local sergeant

A local sergeant says the amount of cash people are leaving in their houses is ‘extraordinary’ – particularly the elderly.

Galway’s crime prevention officer, Olivia Fleming, was speaking at a crime information talk in Glenamaddy last night.

Clocks go back by an hour this weekend and burglaries normally increase by a fifth over the winter.

Sergeant Fleming is urging the public not to leave money in their homes.
