Son of popular Strokestown woman pays tribute to his mother at funeral mass

Her requiem mass took place at St Anne's Church in Scramogue at 11am this morning.

A popular Strokestown woman who died after her battle with motor neurone disease has been remembered as a "caring mother who always looked out for everyone."
Nicola Murphy, who lived in Scramogue, died on the 20th of December.

Her husband, Joe Murphy, was a Roscommon county councillor between 2016 and 2024.
Nicola was diagnosed with the disease in September 2023, and €83,000 was raised to assist with her care.
Her requiem mass took place at St Anne's Church in Scramogue at 11am this morning.
Her son Conor Murphy paid tribute to his late mother and to all those who supported her in her final days:
