Over three hundred Covid cases have been confirmed in the south Roscommon area in the last fortnight.
New figures from the Covid hub reveal that the incidence rate in the Athlone LEA in Roscommon is the highest in the Shannonside region at 1,726 per 100,000 in the last 14 days.
The latest data from the Covid hub shows the growth of Covid-19 in several areas of the Shannonside region between the 16th and 29th of November.
In Roscommon the Boyle LEA recorded 217 cases in the last 2 weeks' - resulting in a Covid rate of 994 - below the national average. of 1,316.
A total of 243 cases were also recorded in the Roscommon town LEA - resulting in a Covid rate of 1068
However the area with the highest Covid incidence rate in the last two weeks was the Athlone M.D in Roscommon -where 345 cases were recorded and resulting in its Covid rate peak at 1726.8 in the last 14 days.
224 cases were confirmed in the Longford town LEA in the last two weeks - resulting in a Covid rate of 1396 per 100,000.
In the Granard M.D 135 cases were confirmed in the last fortnight - with a rate of 1264 and the south Longford LEA of Ballymahon also recorded 207 cases between the middle of November and the end of the month with an incidence rate of 1462
In Leitrim, 190 cases were confirmed in the Carrick-on-Shannon M.D in the last two weeks - 125 cases in the Ballinamore MD and 62 in Manorhamilton.
The Donaghmede local electoral area in Dublin has the highest 14-day incidence rate in the country, at 2,185 cases per 100,000.
