A special dedication ceremony will be held today in Drumlish for the statue of famous historical Bishop.
Bishop William O’Higgins was born in Drumlish in 1794 and was a leading church figure in a tumultuous time in Irish and church history.
The statue sculpted by well known artist Dony McManus was unveiled last year, but a proper dedication was unable to be held due to Covid restrictions.
Bishops of Ardagh & Clonmacnois Francis Duffy and Colm O’Reilly will attend the ceremony at 2 o'clock this afternoon and officially dedicate the sculpture of Bishop O'Higgins outside the Drumlish Parish church.
