The TII will be called on to reverse their decision to not provide funding this year for the N4 Mullingar to Longford road project at a special meeting later this morning.
Longford County Council along with a number of local Oireachtas members will meet with officials from Transport Infrastructure Ireland over the project which conducted a route consultation last year.
Senator Michael Carrigy is calling for the TII to reverse their decision so that the project can proceed as soon as possible.
He believes it's unfair on current families along the preferred routes as all lands are frozen until funding becomes available.
