A former local writer and novelist will have his final novel adapted as a film and previewed later this evening. John McGahern's final novel, 'That They May Face the Rising Sun', is directed by Pat Collins and is set to be released nationwide on April 25th. The film will have a special preview at the Carrick Cineplex this evening at 7pm with director Pat Collins and writer Eamonn Little in attendance for Q&A.
John McGahern was originally from County Leitrim and died in 2006. Speaking to the Joe Finnegan show this morning, director Pat Collins thinks John would've liked the film:
