A special fundraising vehicle run will be held in Longford tomorrow to support a local memorial student bursary.
The Gemma Mcgee Memorial Bursary award was set up in to honour the Moyne Community School Student who passed away after contracting the W strain of Meningitis. Following the loss of their daughter, Gemma's parents along with her workplace, Canadian mining firm TECK, and a local fundraising committee raised over €15,000 towards helping Leaving Cert Students with the cost of going to college. The bursary has helped 12 students with college costs to date. Tomorrow's vehicle run will take place at Moyne Community School with registration at 10am and the run departing at 12pm. The route will take the event through Drumlish, Ballinalee, Aughnacliffe, Gowna and Arva before heading back to Moyne.
