St. Mary’s Kiltoghert booked their place in the Leitirm senior football semi-final after a 2-16 to 12 point win over 13-man Melvin Gaels.
Robbie Lowe’s early goal got St Mary's off to a blistering start but Melvin Gaels clawed themselves back into the game with important scores from Emlyn Mulligan and Darragh Rooney saw Gaels lead eight points to 1-4.
However a crucial second goal from Robbie Lowe transformed the game and left Mary's with a four point half-time lead.
The Kiltoghert side kept adding on the scores extending the gap to six points when Mulligan got a straight red card just before the water break.
The Carrick side waltzed into the semi-final as Melvin Gaels were reduced to 13 late on as St. Mary’s won out by 10 points and will face Glencar Manor Hamilton in next weekend’s semi-final.
