Niall Naughten, Students Union president at TUS athlone says they have been overwhelmed with students needing help in the last fortnight.
"Our offices have been absolute bedlam for the last 2 weeks, the phones have been non-stop, and the emails have been non-stop in particular with parents and first year students who are already anxious and overwhelmed as it is coming onto campus. We put a major call out amongst our staff to open up their homes to take on students and rent out rooms. That has proven to be very successful. We thankfully got a great reception from that. We have 104 on our list so there is availability there".
