Residents around Lough Funshinagh are experiencing 'mental torture' according to one local.
The embattled flood defence works have been stalled for a second time following a High Court order.
Environmental group Friends of the Irish Environment have received permission from the court for a judicial review of an order made by Roscommon County Council.
The order, made in October, called for the installation of a smaller temporary drainage plan, a version of which had already been refused by the high court a month previous.
Several homes and farms in South Roscommon are currently at risk from the lake with flooding season expected in early Spring.
