Those who leave work at 66 will get the current weekly rate of 253 euro, rising to 266 euro at 67, 281 euro at 68 and 297 euro weekly if you retire at the age of 69.

Those who stay in the workforce longer will get higher pension payments.

Government Ministers are today set to approve plans which will see incremental increases to the state pension for those who work beyond the age of 66.

Social Protection Minister Heather Humphreys plans to implement the changes in 2024 and from then on, those who stay in work until the age of 70 would get a maximum weekly pension of 315 euro.
