A specially commissioned statue honouring one of Roscommon's footballing greats will be unveiled in Knockcroghery next year.
The stone statue of All-Ireland winning captain Jamesie Murray is being produced by Roscommon stonemason Mark Feeley and will be placed on the green in the village.
Jamesie Murray captained Roscommon to All-Ireland glory for the first time in 1943 and was a popular local publican in Knockcroghery.
