Status orange snow and ice warning issued for local counties

Motorists are advised of very hazardous road conditions , travel disruption and poor visibility.

Met Eireann has issued a Status Orange weather alert for Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon.

The snow and ice warning comes into effect from 11:00 today until 10:00 on Friday.

The alert will also impact Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Clare, Connacht, Louth, Meath and Westmeath.
