People in the Shannonside Region are being warned to expect red weather warnings ahead of storm like conditions due over the weekend. Storm Darragh has just been named with further weather warnings expected over the next 24 hours. A status yellow wind warning has been issued for six counties including Leitrim from this afternoon, followed by an orange warning on Friday and Saturday.
Cathal Nolan of Ireland's Weather Channel is warning of red weather alerts across multiple counties. Speaking to the Joe Finnegan Show he says strong winds will lead to travel disruption, widespread power outages and flying debris:
