Storm Eowyn damages historic 300-year-old windmill in Elphin

A historic windmill in Elphin, Co Roscommon, has been badly damaged in the storm.

The sails were torn off the 300-year-old structure.

It has been a popular tourist attraction since it was restored almost 30 years ago.

Local councillor Valerie Byrne says the damage is devastating.

Another councillor, Sean Moylan, has also expressed sadness at the incident.
