Tens of thousands of homes and businesses remain without power in the Shannonside Region this morning in the wake of Storm Isha.
The ESB says that as of 6.30 this morning 235 thousand homes, farms and businesses were without power.
ESB Networks is warning it could be a number of days before power is fully restored to all households.
Local fire services and council crews are still clearing trees and power lines from roads across the three counties, with motorists and pedestrians urged to travel with care.
Anyone who encounters a downed power line is urged not to approach and contact emergency services.
A number of schools locally are also to remain closed today due to power outages, including Frenchpark National School in Roscommon and Kilnagross in Leitrim.
Iarnrod Eireann are reporting delays on routes accross the region with some services operating up to 45 minutes behind schedule
