That's followed by Roscommon at over 2,000 in Roscommon with Ballaghaderreen and North Roscommon the worst hit. In Longford, approximately 1,000 people are waiting for their electricity to be restored.

The ESB has warned that it may take a number of days to fully restore power at properties in some areas. This comes as Storm Jocelyn is currently moving over the region.

People are urged to drive with care with warnings that trees or power lines already weakened by Storm Isha could be blown down by Jocelyn. ESB is expecting further outages from tonight's storm, with repair works in many areas forecast to stop due to high winds.
