A local National Dairy Council farm ambassador says farmers feel let down by the Minister for Agriculture over new nitrates regulations.
The nitrates derogation for Irish farmers is set to be cut further in the new year which means some farmers will have to reduce stock numbers. Farmers have been protesting in Cork today against the new regulations due to come in on the 1st of January. Strokestown farmer, Miriam Gunn, a NDC ambassador and an IFA national delegate, says further protests cannot be ruled out.
