The Finance Minister says figures published today confirm the strong post-pandemic rebound in the economy last year.
CSO data shows GDP grew by 9 point 4 per cent in 2022, while personal spending also increased by 9.4 per cent.
Revised figures for the first quarter of this year shows the Irish economy contracted by 2 point 8 per cent.
Minister Michael Mc Grath says many of the headwinds to growth which existed at the start of the year remain.
However, he says the strong labour market, rising consumer confidence and easing of inflation should support growth for the rest of the year.
