Children are pleading with the Education Minister to limit homework.
Students and their parents have been writing to Minister Norma Foley since President Michael D. Higgins said in January that a homework ban should be considered.
In the letters children are detailing how homework causes stress and leaves them no time for hobbies or exercise.
A letter detailed in the Irish Examiner outlines how one student maintains seven hours of school each day is 'plenty of education'.
A second talks about how a lack of free time can 'affect a person's wellbeing', while another states that 'if sleeping isn't for school' then 'work isn't for home'.
