Longford Garda Superintendent says there are no plans to downgrade Granard Garda Station at this time.
It comes following concerns raised by Deputy Joe Flaherty over the future of the North Longford station due to the commencement of a new operating model across the country.
The new Garda division includes Longford, Roscommon and Mayo with the crime unit for the three counties now based in Castlerea.
Superintendent Seamus Boyle says while a merger of the Longford and Granard districts has taken place this week, all Gardai currently in Granard will remain there for the moment.
Superintendent Boyle explains the new operating model below.
