A supermarket and shopping centre in Longford Town have been evacuated this evening following security concerns.
Emergency services are currently attending Dunnes Stores on the Dublin Road and the Longford Shopping Centre in the town centre.
Staff and customers were ordered to leave both locations with immediate effect just before 5pm.
Gardaí have sealed off the area surrounding both premises for further investigations.
Speaking to Shannonside FM news at the scene, a ranking Garda stated they are 'acting in the interest of public safety.'
It's understood both buildings will remain closed until tomorrow.
