A Dublin swim coach who is facing 12 charges under the Child Pornography Act has been remanded on bail, pending trial.
Matthew Coward, of Shantalla Drive, Santry in Dublin, was arrested this morning and appeared before the Criminal Courts of Justice this afternoon.
31-year-old Matthew Coward faces 7 charges of producing child pornography and exploiting three children at a Dublin swimming pool.
These incidents are alleged to have happened between September 2021 and February of this year
He’s also been charged with two counts of possession of child pornography in a separate location.
Mr Coward was arrested at him home in Shantalla Drive Santry before 7am and taken to Finglas Garda Station.
He’s been remanded on bail under a number of conditions, including that he does continue as a coach and stays away from the pool in question.
Mr Coward will have to present himself to gardaí every day between now and the 13th of September when a book of evidence will be presented to Blanchardstown District Court.
