The Tánaiste has described what has happened at Lough Funshinagh in South Roscommon as a 'travesty'.
Micheál Martin was visiting residents impacted by the flooding in Ballagh, Rahara and Curraghboy today.
It's the third such visit by a member of Government in recent weeks following visits by OPW Minister Kieran O'Donnell and Taoiseach Simon Harris.
However, residents have been left frustrated by what they say is a lack of progress on a solution to the flooding which has been ongoing since 2016.
The Tánaiste added that the impact of a legal objection to works at the flood-affected turlough has been disproportionate.
Referring to the successful High Court challenge by Friends of the Irish Environment, he said there needed to be more balance in such cases:
