The Tánaiste says he's asked his officials to look at eight roads projects, including the N4 from Mullingar to Longford upgrade, which have been suspended due to lack of funds.
Leo Varadkar told the Select Committee on Enterprise today that he will engage with Transport Minister Eamon Ryan once he knows which of the projects are the "most value economically".
He was responding to concerns raised by a Fine Gael TD in Cork East about a road project off the N25.
There's serious concern locally that the N4 project between Mullingar and Longford could be terminated entirely if it doesn't go ahead now.
The selection process for a route began again in recent years after the project was brought back into action following its suspension during the financial crash.
An announcement on a preferred route had been expected this month.
Speaking at the Select Committee this afternoon, Leo Varadkar says a lot of people have been contacting him about the stalled roads projects.
