A Roscommon senator is calling for urgent action to address major flooding issues at Lough Funshinagh.
It's understood the Tánaiste is due to meet with the attorney general today to discuss emergency measures to reduce the water level of the lake. Two families have been forced to leave their homes and a busy road has been closed as flooding has worsened in the area.
Local senator Eugene Murphy says the situation at Lough Funshinagh has reached crisis point and action must be immediately taken.
