The Tánaiste Leo Varadkar intends to bring concerns over the slow rollout of Just Transition Funding locally to the Environment Minister.
Local Authority officials in Longford voiced their disappointment at the slow pace of money for projects in various communities during a meeting with the Fine Gael leader on his visit to the county this week.
They believe the allocated money is being provided at a 'snail's pace' and that the process needs to be re-examined in order to cut down on 'red-tape'.
The Tánaiste has confirmed he will speak to Minister Eamon Ryan in an effort to speed up the process.
