Taoiseach hits out at general election candidates who use 'far right' rhetoric

He was speaking during a visit to Roscommon earlier today, where he was asked about protests at Lissywollen in Athlone regarding the accommodation of asylum seekers.

The Taoiseach has hit out at election candidates who use 'far right' language when discussing immigration. Simon Harris also said he was 'very concerned' with the rise in what he described as the 'spread of misinformation'. He was speaking during a visit to Roscommon earlier today, where he was asked about protests at Lissywollen in Athlone regarding the accomodation of asylum seekers.

The Fine Gael leader said it was important to listen to communities prior to the placement of those under International Protection. Speaking to Shannonside News, he urged general election candidates to use 'humane language' when discussing the issue:
