The Taoiseach says the Government's immigration policy needed to change due to increasing frustration among Irish people. Simon Harris says it was ok for people to have views on the issue and an input into their own towns and villages.

Meanwhile, close to 40-thousand euro has so far been raised after a GoFundMe campaign was set up the support the legal action taken by Athlone Councillors against the proposed IPAS centre in the town. Mayor Frankie Keena, John Dolan, Paul Hogan, Kevin Boxer Moran and Aengus O'Rourke are challenging the legality of the proposed development of tented accommodation at Lissywollen,
