Vessels and boaters using the River Shannon in the region are being advised a major lifting bridge will remain closed until the end of the month.
The bridge over the Shannon at Tarmonbarry is to remain closed to vessels in order to facilitate essential maintenance works.
An alternative route is available via the loughs along the Camlin river until maintenance is due to be complete on Monday the 29th of April. Waterways Ireland have apologised to masters of vessels for the inconvenience caused by the closure of the lifting bridge.
